smokey bot - privacy policy

this policy explains what data smokey collects, how it is used, and how you can request its deletion.

what we collect

when you interact with smokey, the following information may be stored:

your discord username and display nickname
your discord user id
your roles within servers where smokey is active
server information (server id, name, channel ids)
message history used to provide ai chat context
ai memory files: summaries and notes the bot generates about you over time to personalize responses

third party processing

smokey uses the google gemini api to power its ai responses. messages you send to smokey, along with relevant context, are sent to google's servers for processing. this is required for the bot to function. there is no way to use smokey's ai features without this. google's use of this data is governed by their own privacy policy.

beyond google, your data is never sold or shared with any other third parties, and is never used for advertising.

how long we keep it

your data is retained until you request deletion. server data is automatically purged if smokey is removed from a server. we do not otherwise automatically purge data on inactivity.

requesting deletion

you have two commands available to manage your data:

/reset - clears all stored message history and conversation context for the current server
/forget - removes your ai memory files, wiping any long-term information the bot has stored about you
